Omega-3 deficiency is a common problem in dogs and cats. VetActiv8 Omega-3 is designed to provide a sufficient and effective source of omega-3 for dogs and cats, that is often lacking in daily diets. A healthy level of omega-3 is essential to ensure that the other fatty acids are in balance (i.e. Omega-6), reducing inflammation within the body and diseased kidney tissue.

Omega-3 and omega-6 work in an antagonistic manner. While the omega-6 fatty acids increase inflammation, the hormones produced by omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation. Research shows that an average dog’s diet contains a disproportionate amount of omega-6, and deficient amounts of omega-3, which is why supplementing additional omega 3 is essential.

In addition, studies show that omega-3 can also assist with brain and heart health, as well as improve skin, coat and nails.
